Momentary lapse.
Forgive me, but I'll be stepping away from this journal for a few weeks. I need a little time away. I tend to put a lot of effort into this journal, but sometimes I feel like keeping the journal isn't really "worth it." That usually means that it's time to take a little break.
I'm also busy working on the activities I listed for myself on my 3x5 card a couple of weeks ago. Instead of feeling "stuck" in my job, instead of feeling listless, I'm trying to create some positive momentum toward meaningful change. Baby steps are what it's all about right now. I hope that the effort I put into my "dream plan" now will yield good things 6 to 12 months down the road.
If you want to know when I'm back, just sign up for my Notify List. And feel free to e-mail in the meantime I'll be around.

(P.S. If you're in Atlanta and you want to hear some beautiful live music, come to see Hem at Smith's Olde Bar on August 17. I'll be there, and I can promise you an evening of really gorgeous music.)

"Books are like brothers. I am an only child. Gatsby my imaginary brotherAmory my younger, Anthony my worry. Dick my comparatively good brother but all of them far from home..." F. Scott Fitzgerald, referring to the protagonists of his four novels published in his lifetime. From The Notebooks of F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Beautiful and Damned
F. Scott Fitzgerald
I've been working on this one for a while. Although it's taking me a while to finish it, I love it. Grabbing 5-minute snatches of a 600-page book is probably not the best way to approach this selection. But I'm determined to not flake out halfway through.
